IGTAP Omni-Dash: Why It Removes Double Jump

Omni-dash replaces your double jump. It turns the dash into an all-direction move you can point up, down, left or right, and it removes the second jump at the same time. The upgrade is automatic once you reach it, so you cannot decline it.

What omni-dash changes

Before the upgrade you have a fixed-direction dash and a second jump. Afterwards you have one move that goes in any direction and no second jump.

The change lands in the middle of the game, after you have spent hours building muscle memory. Its achievement sits at 24.1% completion, while finishing the main story sits at 23.5%. Most players who finish the game pass through it.

Two details are worth separating:

• The ability swap is deliberate. The achievement is named All angle igtap, and no patch has changed it.
• One bug around it was not deliberate. The September 22 hotfix fixed a softlock that happened when returning to the unlock-orbs area with omni-dash.

Why players push back so hard

Steam reviews describe the same experience three times over, from three different accounts.

One called it an upgrade that “takes away the ability to double jump and turns your dash into an omni-directional jump”. Another wrote that “instead of just giving you an omni-dash, the game also takes away your ability to double jump”. A third described it as feeling “more like a punishment than a bonus”.

Three reasons explain the reaction:

1. It removes something. Every other upgrade only adds. This one takes a tool away at the moment you are most used to it.
2. It invalidates routes. Shortcuts you learned were built around a second jump. The optimal line changes overnight.
3. It is not optional. You cannot keep your old move set, so there is no way to opt out.

How the double jump comes back

The double jump returns later, and the achievement list proves it. Jump, but again, again. is described simply as “Regain the double jump ability”, and only 2.9% of players have unlocked it.

That is lower than the 23.5% who complete the main story. The restoration sits well past the credits, in the late-game stretch that includes VMAN.

Players who disliked the change often say the same thing: they kept going because reviews told them it comes back.

How to cope with the switch

1. Relearn on an easy course. Re-run course one or two until the all-direction dash feels automatic.
2. Separate the two inputs. The dash jump is a press of dash, then a press of jump, not both together.
3. Re-time old shortcuts. Routes built for a second jump usually have an omni-dash equivalent, but the timing differs.
4. Re-record your best times. Your old times are the multiplier behind your clone income. New routes mean better times.
5. Check your build. If you get stuck around the unlock-orbs area, update past the September 22 hotfix.
6. Do not fight it. The late courses and VMAN are designed around the new move, so the ability is the intended tool for the endgame.

What the community wants changed

Several reviews ask for a toggle that would let players choose between the two move sets. Nothing in the official announcements suggests one is planned, and the developer has not responded to that request publicly.

That silence is itself worth recording. It means the current state of the ability is the design, not an oversight waiting to be patched.
